about

"Your Sanctuary" is the title track from the latest album. A deeply sentimental track, written during a time of trial and loss. The message is clear and universal. My hope is that the immediacy of the emotion I felt while writing this song is conveyed through the music.

lyrics

It's been over a year since you disappeared

He said, you can come in, but there ain’t much here

Some broken promises and some stale beer

Cause in my mind I am still lost and unclear

It's a mystery why I’m the one still alive

Craving and daring, my footsteps thrived

It's a miracle that your love still survives

I’ve pushed and pushed and still you stayed

Do all these petty things even matter?

Infinite distractions and constant chatter

All this drama means nothing
Yet we watch it unfold

A quiet place might be your sanctuary

You’re still lost, but you’re beautiful to me

Your loving smile like a sunbeam shines

Decide to love again and it will set you free

Decide to love again and it will set you free

Please don’t take matters in your own hands

I’m begging you to give it a second chance

Double talk and failure now seem to rule this world

Defensive possum-stance, so many lay curled

Do all these petty things even matter?

Infinite distractions and constant chatter

All this drama means nothing
Yet we watch it unfold

Don’t take so much of this personal, it ain’t just about you

It’s this all or nothing world that we live

And where we’d be if we let our love shine through

And where we’d be if we let our love shine through

A quiet place might be your sanctuary

You’re still lost, but you’re beautiful to me

Your loving smile like a sunbeam shines

Decide to love again and it will set you free

Decide to love again and it will set you free

Decide to love again

Jason Mirek Silver Creek, New York

Singer-songerwriter from Western New York. Blending a wide range of influences and delivering them with a slightly unorthodox approach to phrasing and arrangement, making it difficult to classify in one particular genre. From traditional folk and country roots to subtle orchestral layering. Having fun exploring a variety of styles seems to add a certain energy. ... more
